Dramatodía

Madrigal comedies and theatrical entertainments of the Cinque–Seicento, staged by a company of singers, players and actors.

Back to the engagements

Dramatodía takes its name from the Greek for representative song, and from the Intermedi sopra l'Aurora ingannata that Girolamo Giacobbi composed in 1605 — the first musical theatre written in the Bolognese lands, and a work the company recorded for Tactus in 2025.

Founded by Alberto Allegrezza, it exists to put the theatrical repertoire of the Cinque–Seicento comici back on the stage, and to go after the music written to enrich those performances: Banchieri, Vecchi, Croce, Andreini, Charpentier.

The company is a company of singers, players and actors rather than an ensemble with a stage director attached. Allegrezza directs, designs the costumes and the sets, and sings.
