Who he is
The great comic roles of early music theatre, the parts a tenore buffo is made for — at the Teatro alla Scala, the Theater an der Wien and the Innsbrucker Festwochen der Alten Musik.
He came to singing from the recorder — a diploma under Paolo Faldi at the «A. Pedrollo» Conservatory in Vicenza, then singing with William Matteuzzi, Gloria Banditelli and Gabriele Lombardi.
As singer and as instrumentalist he has worked with Les Talens Lyriques, Accademia Bizantina, La Cetra, Auser Musici, Cantar lontano, Odhecaton, La Venexiana, L'Homme Armé, Modo Antiquo, Concerto Romano and the Cappella musicale di San Petronio.
With Dramatodía, the company he founded, he revives the madrigal comedies and theatrical entertainments of the Cinque–Seicento, designing the costumes and the sets himself.
Historical gesture
Gesture was a second language running alongside the music — as ruled, as teachable and as public as counterpoint. Giovanni Bonifacio · L'arte de' cenni · Vicenza, 1616
Alberto Allegrezza's laboratori and masterclasses in the codified stage gesture of the late Renaissance and early Baroque, read from the treatises and put back into the body.
